Samuel Gidaro

Samuel Gidaro is a founding member of Porter Gidaro & Bryant LLC and is based in Philadelphia. He focuses his practice on the defense of employers and insurance carriers in workers’ compensation matters throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Prior to forming the firm, Samuel was a partner at a large Philadelphia insurance defense firm, where his practice was likewise concentrated in workers’ compensation. He has successfully defended claims involving municipalities, school districts, police departments, hospitals, and businesses of all sizes. Samuel advises clients on all aspects of workers’ compensation law and is known for his strategic, results-driven approach aimed at achieving cost-effective outcomes.

Samuel earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 2009, graduating cum laude. Before attending law school, he worked as an accounting project supervisor at Comcast Cable and as a part-time features writer for Scout.com, covering the Trenton Thunder, a minor league affiliate of the New York Yankees.

He received his Juris Doctor from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 2014, graduating cum laude. While in law school, Samuel served as Managing Editor of the Indiana Journal of Global Legal Studies, was a finalist in the Sherman Minton Moot Court Competition, and worked as a research assistant to Professor Sarah Jane Hughes. He also clerked for the Honorable Timothy J. Savage of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania following his first year of law school.

Samuel is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and is an active member of the Philadelphia Bar Association, among other professional organizations. He has been elected Defense Co-Chair of the Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation Section and has been recognized as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyers® Rising Star from 2019 through 2025.

Outside of his practice, Samuel enjoys reading, spending time with his family, and cheering on Philadelphia sports teams (Go Birds!).
